Journey back to Laos: Tricia Lapitan, daughter of Sounthary and the late Sergio Lapitan of Seattle, Wash., visited Vientiane during the middle of August 2005. An account of her first visit to Laos was published in a Seattle-based newsweekly for Asian Americans. Here is her account. The story also is linked in the Member News section. Tricia is a practicing lawyer and attended the first International Conference on Lao Studies in May 2005 in DeKalb, Ill.

Some notable contributions by the Next Generation to Mekong Circle International's Fourth Reunion held in New York City, Aug. 2-4, 2002. (By Pete Fuentecilla)

Lea del Rosario -- daughter of former accountant Red del Rosario and wife, Edith, scouted hotels and yachts for the Organizing Committee. She chose Hotel Pennsylvania and negotiated the discount rates. During the presentations at the Hotel, she prepared a short guide to enjoying New York and followed it up with a briefing.

Eric Fuentecilla -- second son of former OB nurse Pet and Pete Fuentecilla, is a graphic designer who scanned all the photos used on the souvernir program. The original scans were done rignt but the printer messed up most of them in the published version. He also helped in producing the March and April newsletters.

Richie Sazon -- made sure all Organizing Committee members were lubricated generously with beer during the last planning meeting  July 15 of the Committee at the lakeside summer home in New Jersey of his parents former OB nurse Cora and former OB accountant Tony Sazon.

Kip and Helen Mendoza -- thanks for your ads to the souvernir programs. They are children of former OB nurse Linda and former OB accountant Cesar Mendoza.

Ellis Tavarez -- 8-year old stepgrandson of former OB nurse Pet and Pete Fuentecilla, steered the cruise boat for about 20 minutes, as a favor by the boat captain. (Linda, don't blame him for getting seasick).

B.J. Reyes -- son of former OB nurse Melanie and OB agriculturist Bert Reyes, constructed our Web site. He has been maintaining the site since it went online on July 10, 2001. At the 2002 New York City reunion, he outlined a project to do a Web documentary on our association.
Look in the Photos section of our Web site where he has posted pictures from the New York reunion.
